Bombon Art Project

(Carrer Trafalgar 45, 08010 Barcelona)

The new kid on the block

This contemporary art gallery was founded by the lovely couple Bernat Daviu, an experienced artist and Joana Roda an art historian. This arty power couple is perfectly equipped to start their journey into the competitive art world in Barcelona.

With the name “Bombon Projects” they have deliberately tried to avoid the whole pressure which comes with the term ‘gallery’ and preferred to use a “sweeter” name. The first thing they tell all their artists is to “be wild and have fun”, if this doesn’t already show how different this gallery is from the others then I don’t know what else will?

Every exhibition is different and the works of art often get used in non conformist  ways… Don’t be surprised if next time you pay a visit to Bonbon Projects you find a comedy show being performed and the artwork being used as seating for the audience. We can assure you that this is not unusual, as it has happened before.

Mecànic

(Carrer de Verntallat 30, 08024 Barcelona)

Coffee & photography

Gracia is definitely the area known for its variety of vegan cafes, local and organic supermarkets and lots of other super stylish shops. Nonetheless another creative spot has recently opened in the heart of the neighbourhood.

What once used to be a car repairs shop has now been turned into a bar-café gallery space called Mecánic. The name isn’t the only thing to hint towards the previous history of the place however, as there is a definite nod towards industrial chic interior detailing too. If this doesn’t sound cool we don’t know what does?

NAUart espacio de creación

(Carrer d’Espronceda 154, 08018 Barcelona)

Art Collective

In this alternative open space in Poblenou they kind of do everything. And when we say everything, we mean everything! They do events, workshops, exhibitions and have a coworking area. They even have the club Nouart a collective but where everyone is invited to share, create and collaborate together.

Paella Showroom

(Carrer de Sant Pere Més Alt 48, 08003 Barcelona)

Art & Vintage clothes

At the back of this, what at first looks like a vintage clothing and handcrafted jewellery store, you can find a small gallery presenting a variety of different art works. This awesome showroom is owned by the Venezuelan artist, weaver and fashion designer Mariadela Araujo.

The presented art works are often of the unconventional variety, ranging from furniture and magazines to photographs. Only one thing seems to be sure, that all of it is constantly changing and you will definitely find something of interest, even if you weren’t looking for anything!

ArtTe

(Carrer de Muntaner 83C, 08011 Barcelona)

Art & Tea

This sophisticated tea lounge does not only offer a huge variety of tea but also a large space where art exhibitions and other artistic activities like workshops, poetry reading or live music take place. All tea (and coffee) lovers are invited!
