Best Street Art Spots in Barcelona
Barcelona – European Graffiti Capital
In this article, we’ll explore some of the best street art spots in Barcelona. From specific locations like Three Chimneys Park and the Montana Gallery, to entire areas like Poblenou and El Raval, we’ve got you covered. Plus, for the true street art lovers, we’ll reveal a bonus spot at the end.
Barcelona is famous for its spectacular Gaudí architecture and its connection to the big dogg Pablo Picasso. However, it also boasts a deep street art scene. After all, the world’s biggest spray paint brand, Montana Cans, was founded and is based here.
Park of the Three Chimneys
Our first stop is the dynamic Park of the Three Chimneys, located near the city center. The park is named after the three towering chimneys from the Industrial Revolution. Here, anyone can paint without needing permission, making it a true open-air gallery. International artists and local kids playing football coexist in this space, alongside skateboarders showing off their tricks in the Barcelona sunshine.
Because the park is open to anyone, the pieces change weekly, so each visit brings new discoveries. If you join us on our Hidden Street Art experience, we’ll definitely show you this park—and you might even meet some artists in action.
Poblenou District
Next, we head to the iconic Poblenou district. Once an industrial area, it has transformed into a playground for urban artists. Walking along Carrer de la Selva de Mar and Carrer de Pere IV, you’ll find striking murals on old factories and warehouses. These murals tell stories of local culture, history, and social issues. For a fun way to explore, rent a bike—Barcelona has plenty of bike-hiring options.
Montana Cans Shop & Gallery
A must-see here is the Montana Cans flagship store and gallery. It’s the perfect place to grab spray cans, shop street art merchandise, or check out exhibitions from top international artists
Raval Neighbourhood
Our street art adventure continues in the vibrant Raval neighbourhood. Known for its eclectic, bohemian vibe, Raval has a reputation for being gritty and raw. Its graffiti reflects this, attracting everyone from skateboarders to tattooed businessmen. This is one of the areas we visit in our Hidden Street Art experience, where we dive deeper into the stories behind the art.
Secret spot – BesArt River Museum
Now for a bonus spot: BesArt River Museum. Though new, it has big ambitions to become one of Europe’s most important street art sites. Located 30 minutes outside the city, near the Llobregat river, it started in 2023 and is on track to become the world’s largest open-air street art museum. You heard it here first. You’re welcome.
So this is by no means and exhaustive list, but certainly some of the big hitters of the best Street Art spots in Barcelona. If you are intrigued then check out our tour offering and come and meet us in person!
